Dogs are without a doubt the best and most loyal friends a man can have. Our furry friends are always ready to accompany us in all our adventures and misadventures without needing to speak to make you feel that they understand perfectly how you feel.
However, there are things that dogs don’t like about us at all, either because they are uncomfortable or because they don’t understand how we act and how we show them affection. If you dedicate yourself to better understanding the language and communication of our dogs, you will be able to identify their preferences and express your affection in a way that they can also appreciate.

Today, we invite you to discover the 7 things you should not do to your dog if you want to respect his desires and needs so that he has an excellent quality of life.
1. Never Let your dog be bored
It is imperative to limit your dog’s moments of solitude. Indeed, your dog needs your presence in order not to get bored. A bored dog often does damage… so whether it’s for him or for you, value the moments with him and think about keeping him busy when he’s with you: outings, games, cuddles, nothing will please him more!
2. Never force your dog into touching you
Unlike us, dogs do not understand the “cuddle” system. Indeed, while for humans, hugs are demonstrations of feelings, the dog sees this rather as an attempt to dominate. In the dog world, a dog that is going to try to dominate another will put his paw on the withers of the submissive… the human’s hug resembles this action and some dogs may not stand for it.
3. Never force him to befriend his fellow dogs
Dogs, like us, socialize with people they like and dislike… so if you force your dog to get along with people he doesn’t like, your relationship may suffer. Indeed, your dog needs to recognize you as a master bringing him a certain security and when you put him in uncomfortable situations, he will have less confidence in you. Be sure to read your dog’s body language before introducing him to new people!
4. Never refuse to take him out
To have a well-balanced dog, it is important to take him out! You need to help him fulfill his needs for physical exercise, sensory experiences (smells, noises, …) and socialization! Otherwise, your dog could develop psychological problems and depression.
5. Never punish your dog for a mistake you didn’t see him make
Make sure that the punishment is not delayed in relation to the mistake. In fact, even when you notice the mistake a few moments after your dog has done it, it is already too late. For example, when you arrive home and your dog has peed and you punish him, your four-legged friend will associate your return with the punishment, which is bad for him.
6. Never give him sweets
The ingestion of sweets such as chocolate, candies or cakes can have serious consequences on your pet’s health. The dog’s body is not like ours, so it does not always tolerate the substances we ingest. It is better to give your pet treats designed for him, reducing the risk of canine obesity and even poisoning.
7. Never abuse your dog
Punishment should be used only in exceptional cases and you should never use violence! Your hand should be synonymous with a caress for your dog. So, if you want to train your pet, you can use positive education, and to punish him from time to time, lock him up for a few minutes in your room or another room in the house.
